Megan & Craig | A Beautiful Formosa, Ontario Wedding

Some love stories begin in unexpected places, and for Megan and Craig, theirs started at a bar in the Waterloo area. From that first meeting, they haven't been separated since! Last winter, Craig popped the question at the beautiful Niagara Falls in Ontario, and this summer they celebrated becoming husband and wife surrounded by the people who matter most to them.

Their wedding day in Formosa, Ontario, was the perfect mix of beautiful, meaningful, relaxed, and a whole lot of fun. The day began with a few special first looks, starting with Megan and her son, T. It was such a sweet moment between the two of them and one of those memories that will be treasured for years to come. We then captured some portraits of Craig and T before it was time for Megan and Craig's first look. Seeing the emotion between these two as they saw each other for the first time was incredibly special. After their first look, we moved into wedding party portraits at Immaculate Conception Church before heading over to Formosa Lions & Lionesses Park & Campground for family portraits ahead of the ceremony.

At 2:00 p.m., Megan and Craig said their vows during a beautiful ceremony at Immaculate Conception Church. The church was a stunning setting for their wedding, and the ceremony was filled with love and emotion. Of course, there was also a little bit of Megan and Craig's personality mixed in. When it came time for their first kiss, Megan brought out a step stool—which had everyone laughing! It was such a fun and unexpected moment and perfectly suited these two.

And speaking of personality... if you know Craig, you know there was no way we were getting through the wedding day without a little plumbing! Craig is a plumber by trade, so they incorporated that into their wedding in the best way possible. From riding away on toilets after the ceremony, to a toilet-themed cake and even a toilet for their wedding cards, they fully committed to the theme. Honestly, it was hilarious and made their wedding feel completely unique to them.

After the ceremony, we continued with more portraits before settling into the reception at Formosa Lions & Lionesses Park & Campground. The rest of the afternoon and evening were relaxed and full of celebration, with heartfelt speeches, games, a fire, plenty of laughter, and time spent surrounded by family and friends. There was a little bit of rain throughout the day, but it certainly didn't stop the celebration or take away from how beautiful the day was.

One of my favourite things about Megan and Craig's wedding was how much it truly felt like them. They made time for the people they love, included their son in meaningful parts of the day, embraced the little quirks that make their relationship unique, and didn't take themselves too seriously. Their first look allowed them to have a quiet moment together, while the rest of the day gave them plenty of time to celebrate with everyone who had come to support them.

As a wedding photographer, these are the days I love documenting—not just because of the beautiful portraits, but because of the story behind them. The emotion of a first look, the laughter during a ceremony, the hugs from family, the unexpected moments, and all those little details that make a wedding uniquely yours. My goal is always to help couples feel comfortable, enjoy their day, and have photographs that bring them right back to how it felt.

Megan and Craig, congratulations once again on becoming husband and wife! It was such a pleasure being part of your day and capturing all the love, laughter, and wonderfully unexpected moments along the way. Here's to a lifetime of happiness, adventures, and, of course, plenty of plumbing jokes!
